What do you envision when you hear the word “library”? Maybe your mind conjures up images of shelving stacks and row after row of books. Or maybe your imagination sees a cavernous, old building with wooden tables and librarians who “shush” noisy patrons. Library Lover’s Month

February is National Library Lover’s Month! The Georgia Library Association has compiled a list of reasons why we should “love” our library. The list is a great one and I’ve borrowed a few for this column. I love my library because I can:

1. Use the library’s public-access computers free of charge.
2. Check out the latest best sellers.
3. Enjoy story times for all ages.

Large Print Books

Did you know that the Library currently has a collection of large print books available for check-out? Many of our patrons (including myself) have difficulty seeing the small text size of most books. This can lead to eyestrain and headaches and take away the joy of reading. Thankfully, there are book publishers who have recognized this as a problem and market special larger print items to the visually challenged.
