1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

“Take the Challenge” by participating in 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, a program that encourages all families and caregivers to read at least 1,000 books with their young children from birth to age 5 before they enter kindergarten.

Studies have shown that families who start reading aloud to their children at birth help build language skills, cultivate an extensive vocabulary, and improve attention spans and listening skills-important tools for beginning to learn to read in kindergarten.

By reading an average of 10 books each week, you’ll be done in just two years. Read 3 books per day, and you’ll finish in under a year.

Packets are available at any of our locations and they include everything you need to get started!
